Pre-Med/Pre-Health Financial Aid

Pre-Health

Financial aid may be available if you enrolling in the School of Continuing Education pre-med/pre-health certificate program and/or courses to prepare for a graduate program in medical or related sciences.

What aid is available?

  • Direct loans only. No Pell Grant available
  • Annual Limits:
    • $5,500 subsidized, dependent undergrad
    • $5,500 subsidized, independent undergrad
  • Aggregate Limits (this is the total amount you are allowed to borrow for your entire undergraduate career):
    • $31,000 dependent undergrad
    • $57,500 independent undergrad

Who is eligible?  In order to qualify for financial aid, you must:

  • File a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Be enrolled in certificate coursework that prepares you for admission to a graduate program in medical or related sciences. NOTE: courses originally taken in a preparatory coursework program that are being repeated for any reason (i.e. grade improvement, course too old) are not eligible for financial aid and could disqualify you from financial aid eligibility for any future semesters).
  • Take a minimum of six (6) eligible credits per semester, enroll continuously
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 or greater GPA at the end of your first eligible semester
  • Stay enrolled for 12 consecutive months (Note: any gap in your enrollment will disqualify you from financial aid eligibility for any future semesters)
