Phillips Memorial Library

  • The library is open 8 am-2 am Sunday-Thursday, 8 am-10 pm Friday, 9 am-10 pm Saturday.
  • Research help for students is available on a drop in basis from 8:30 am-10 pm Monday-Friday, 9 am-10 pm on weekends.
  • Students can also make a research appointment, or ask questions remotely using the Ask Us/Tell Us box on the library home page: providence.edu/library.
  • All of the library’s electronic research databases are available off-campus.  Students will just need to log in using their Network or Sakai credentials.
  • The library has access to nearly one million eBooks, which can be downloaded and read anywhere. Most of those books are here but other eBooks come up when doing a basic book search.
  • In addition to books, the library also lends iPads, laptops, graphing calculators, phone chargers, headphones and more!
  • There is also a Tech Hub desk staffed by student workers in the lower level of the library.  They can help with password re-sets and Sakai issues.
  • Librarians are available to provide classroom instruction – please contact Andria Tieman, Commons Librarian for Digital Research & Education:  atieman@providence.edu or 401-865-1252.

  • OAS is open 8:30 am – 9:00 pm, Monday – Thursday; 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Friday; closed Saturday; 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Sunday.
