INT 101: Perspectives on Western Civilization 1 (3 credits)
This interdisciplinary course examines the civilization of the West through literature, philosophy, theology, history, and art from its beginnings in the ancient Near East, through ancient Greece and Rome, to the Age of Charlemagne.
INT 102: Perspectives on Western Civilization 2 (3 credits)
This interdisciplinary course examines the Western world through literature, philosophy, theology, history, and art from the Age of Charlemagne, through the Middle Ages and up to the early Renaissance. Prerequisite: INT 101
INT 201: Perspectives on Western Civilization 3 (3 credits)
This interdisciplinary course continues the examination of the Western world through literature, philosophy, theology, history, and art from the Reformation to the present. Prerequisite: INT 102
PHL 202: General Ethics (3 credits)
A study of happiness and of the means used by men and women to attain it. Law, morality, and virtue are studied as contributing to the growth of each person to one’s full intellectual, moral, and spiritual stature.
Theology: Your choice of one, 200-level course (3 credits)
Choose from topics ranging from foundations of theology to the New Testament to the Religions of the World.
Natural Science: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose a course from any branch of science, such as astronomy, biology, chemistry, marine ecology physics and more.
Social Science: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose a course from any branch of social science, such as economics, history, law, leadership, political science, psychology, sociology and more.
Quantitative Reasoning: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose any mathematics course, such as Intro to Mathematical Methods to Statistics to Calculus.
Fine Arts: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose a course from any form of fine arts, including art, art history, dance, film, music, or theatre.
Intensive Writing: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose from one of several writing or English courses here, such as Introduction to College Writing, Writing Seminar, Reading and Writing the Short Story, or Intermediate Writing.
Oral Communication: Your choice of one course (3 credits)
Choose a course to polish your public speaking and business presentation skills, such as Introduction to Public Speaking (COM 103), Introduction to Oral Communication (TDF 102), or Fundamentals of Public Speaking (TDF 203).
Electives: 27 Credits
You’ll need nine, 3-credit courses to fulfill your electives requirement. Use this opportunity to explore your interests. You could even finish up to two professional certificates to boost your credentials and marketability with employers.
