Biography:
My name is Claire (Woodman) Laquerre. I was born in Woonsocket Rhode Island, graduated from Woonsocket High School, and moved on to obtain a science degree. I returned to Woonsocket as a science teacher focusing on teaching science to students with limited English skills. I continued my education at Rhode Island College earning my MAT in Secondary Education concentrating in the Biological Sciences.
At Woonsocket, I was instrumental in constructing a state-of-the-art Biotechnology Laboratory which was used for the CTE Biotechnology program I instructed. I have a love of science and teaching that I take great pleasure in sharing with others. I enjoy doing anything that puts me one with nature. I have slept in the canopies of Belize and have scuba dove many coral reefs. Today, being recently semi-retired, I spend as much time as possible on ski slopes and on biking trails.
