Biography:
For over 20 years, I oversaw applied research and monitoring for the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program (URI-RIDEM), including development of ecological assessment indicators and development of dissolved oxygen and macroalgae monitoring programs in Narragansett Bay. From 2013-2017, I worked at the RIDEM Marine Fisheries Lab on marine habitat restoration and mapping efforts. I retired from RIDEM in 2017. Over my 31 year career with RIDEM, I thoroughly enjoyed working with my colleagues at RIDEM as well as many University researchers in the area on collaborative projects with Brown University, Rogers Williams Univ., and URI on Narragansett Bay issues.
I have been teaching at PC SCE since 2007, and greatly enjoy the interaction with adults adding to their knowledge and completing a degree while working full time & raising families, as well as with day students completing their core science requirement, all of them preparing our world for the future.
